Form real words from the rings. Each word must contain at least one letter from each of the three rings, with a three-letter minimum. Inner letters score 3×, middle 2×, outer 1×. You have 20 attempts; wrong words still cost you one. First three dictionary misses on otherwise-valid plays are free missed throws.
Score as many points as possible in 20 submissions. You score by submitting valid English words built from the 15 letters on the board, with the constraint that each word must touch all three rings.
You only have 20 submissions. Both valid and invalid words consume an attempt. The pip row tracks how many you've burned through.
Missed throws: the first three times a word satisfies the ring rules but isn't recognised by our dictionary, the attempt is refunded as a "missed throw". After three missed throws, dictionary misses cost an attempt like any other invalid word. Missed throws only apply when the word would have been a legal play if the dictionary contained it — words that miss a ring, are too short, or use letters not on the rings always cost an attempt.
Whenever you submit a ring-legal word we don't recognise — free or not — we'll show it to you and ask whether you'd like to send it in for dictionary review. Say yes when you're confident it's a real word; otherwise just dismiss the prompt and play on.
Suppose the rings are:

That's 5 attempts spent and 59 points scored. Notice CRYPTIC's score: it loads up on inner-ring letters AND gets a length bonus, which is the play.
RAT uses only outer-ring letters; it'd be invalid even though it's a word.Played by everyone today: 0 · all-time: 16
